200 Million e-mail address hacked...
On 24 December 2024, Alon Gal posted on his linkedin account that nearly 200 million twitter user Email addresses have been hacked and posted on different online hacking forums. Alon Gal is a co-founder of cyber security monitoring firm Hudson rock of Israel. He mentioned that this is one of the most significant leaks he has seen and “The breach will unfortunately lead to a lot of hacking, targeted phishing and doxing.”
The information is not independently verified that the data was authentic and taken from twitter but on 4 January 2023, Wednesday the screenshots of the data from online hacking forum got appeared, the Elon Musk-owned company Twitter didn’t comment on the post by Gal regarding the privacy breach of users but there is a seen in number of flows of information shared about the leaks over the social sites.

However, it is assumed that the hackers came in action during 2021 a year before Elon Musk took over Twitter in 2022 and the location is still unidentified.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission will monitor twitter for compliance as per European data protection rules and a U.S. consent order accordingly.
