Two Bomb Blast in Afghanistan’s Bamiyan province kills at least 14

12 civilians and two police officers died while 45 were severely wounded in Afghanistan Bomb Blast

Two explosions took place at a marketplace in the city of Bamiyan in central Afghanistan in the evening rush hour. Explosives were hidden at the side of the road in Bamiyan, home to many members of the mainly Shia Hazara ethnic minority.

Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Interior Ministry said at least 14 people have been died while 45 people were also wounded in a late afternoon blast in Bamiyan city in Bamiyan province. Many vehicles and shops were damaged while some were destroyed. He further added calling it an “Unforgivable crime”.

Anwar Saadartyar, a local resident who witnessed the scene told the press, “When I reached the market... there was still blood and body parts everywhere. The blast occurred when people were busy shopping. I visited the hospital later and saw people crying for their relatives who were killed or wounded in the explosions. There were so many wounded people that doctors didn’t know who to treat first. I will never forget that scene.”

No one immediately claimed the responsibility for the attack. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Spokesperson for Taliban said the group was not involved. The Islamic State group affiliate in Afghanistan has declared war on the country’s minority Shiite Muslims- and Bamiyan is a mostly Shiite province

The twin blast took place in Bamiyan almost hours after Afghan Air Force (AAF) striked a remote area in the country’s northern Balkh province, that killed six terrorist and four others were wounded.
