One Critical After Building Collapses in Kabir Nagar, Delhi


Early Thursday morning, a two-storey building collapse in Delhi's Kabir Nagar in Welcome led to the death of at least two individuals, while one person was injured. Authorities were alerted to the incident following a distress call around 2:16 am.

 

According to an unnamed official speaking to news agency ANI, the first floor of the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident, while the ground floor was being utilized for jeans cutting.

 

The official further added that three workers were trapped under the debris. Despite the prompt response from the rescue teams, two of the workers were pronounced dead upon arrival at GTB Hospital.

 

The report identified the deceased as Arshad, aged 30, and Tauhid, aged 20. The third worker, Rehan, aged 22, sustained critical injuries in the incident. North East DCP Joy Tirkey confirmed that Rehan is currently receiving treatment at GTB Hospital.

 

The official mentioned that efforts are underway to locate Shahid, the owner of the building. Legal action will be pursued in the matter once he is located, the official added.
