UGC NET 2021: UGC NET exam date Announced, NTA released notification

NTA has announced UGC-NET 2021 exam dates. Registration started yesterday and will continue till May 3. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal shared the information on his Twitter handle.


The date for UGC NET Exam 2021 has been announced. The NTA will conduct the UGC NET (December Cycle) examination for a junior research fellowship and eligibility for Assistant professor in May 2021.

Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank (Nishank) has shared this information on his Twitter account. NTA released this bulletin for UGC NET December 2020 Exam. Because of  the Covid-19 epidemic, the exam could not be taken at the scheduled time. Neither application was made. Now, this exam will be held in May 2021 (UGC NET May 2021). The test will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) Mode only and it comprises two papers. The First paper will have 100 marks having 50 MCQ and the other will be of 200 marks having 100 MCQ.

As per the notification, the UGC NET exam for Assistant Professor and JRF qualification has been started from 02 May 2021. There will be exams on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 17 of May 2021. The exam will be conducted in two shifts daily in the online mode. The morning shift will be from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be in the evening from 3 pm to 6 pm.

You have to submit the online application form after filling it. The process of online application started yesterday (02 February 2021). The deadline is 02 March 2021. Applications can be deposited by 03 March 2021. The application process has to be completed through the UGC NET website.

Awarding of junior research fellowship (JRF) or eligibility for assistant professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in paper-I and paper-II UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship won’t be considered for the Awarding of JRF.
