Magnitude of 4.0 on Saturday Morning...


The Ukhrul district of Manipur, which is 80 kilometers northeast of the state's capital Imphal, was struck by an earthquake on Saturday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The earthquake, which struck the town at 6:14 a.m., took place 10 kilometers beneath the surface of the earth and read 4.0 magnitude in Richter scale. 

 

“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.0, Occurred on 04-02-2023, 06:14:55 IST, Latitude: 25.13 & Longitude: 94.67, Depth: 10 km, location: Ukhrul, Manipur, India,” NCS said in a tweet.

 

On Friday night, a magnitude 3.2 earthquake hit regions of western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The earthquake struck the area at 9:31 p.m., according to the country's nodal agency for earthquake activity monitoring. Its epicenter was in Shamli.

 

According to the most recent earthquake reports from NCS, there were 38 earthquakes reported in Indian Territory during the month of December. According to the data, 6 earthquakes each were observed in Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh during this time.
