Union Budget 2022: Shiv Sena, AAP Calls The Budget "Disappointment"

Oppositions say the budget won't help the middle class, commoners

A day after presenting the Union Budget 2022-23, the opposition hits the Central Govt. The Shiv Sena, Cong., AAP calls the budget "disappointment." Shiv Sena dubbed the Union Budget as "very depressing", saying it has neither given any relief to the middle class nor it has any reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of making India a "USD 5 trillion" economy.

After the announcement of the Union Budget by the FM Nirmala Sitharaman, Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut said the Union Budget 2022-23 only has a jugglery of words like the PM-Gati Shakti, Atmanirbhar Bharat, while old schemes are presented as new.

While talking to reporters, Mr Raut said, "The budget is very depressing. During the coronavirus pandemic, people of the country paid Rs 1.40 lakh crore as GST but, unfortunately, the schemes that were to be implemented with regard to taxes do not find a place in the budget."

He claimed the budget has misled people.

"The budget has given no relief to the middle class with regard to the Income Tax. There is no reference to the prime minister's vision of making India a USD 5 trillion economy," Mr. Raut said.

Moreover, Delhi CM Kejriwal calls the budget disappointment for common people. In a tweet in Hindi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor noted that people had "high expectations" from the Union Budget during the corona period but there is nothing in it either for the common people or to reduce price rise.

"People had high expectations from the Budget during the corona period. The Budget has disappointed the people. There is nothing in the Budget for the general public. Nothing to reduce price rise," Mr. Kejriwal said.
