Union Minister Sadananda Gowda collapses, hospitalized

Sadananda Gowda collapsed due to low blood sugar level and was hospitalized at Aster CMI Hospital.


Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers D V Sadananda Gowda, 67, collapsed due to low blood sugar level and was admitted to Aster CMI hospital at 4:45pm on Sunday. He was coming from Shivamogga and was in Chitradurga at the time of the incident.  His condition is stable and is undergoing further more tests, official sources said. 

Gowda was first admitted to a hospital in Chitradurga and later shifted to a private hospital by an ambulance through zero  traffic management. Zero traffic management is a privilege that allows convoys of VVIPs to pass through roads where movement of other vehicles is temporarily halted. " He is stable, blood and other parameters are normal." Dr. Brinda, physician at the hospital said. He added that there was no need to worry and they will keep him under observation for the next 24 hours. The doctor mentioned that Gowda collapsed due to low sugar level. "Due to low sugar I was a bit tired. I'm fine now. All parameters, including Echo, ECG are normal. I thank those who wished for my good health," Gowda wrote on his twitter account. 

He had attended a state BJP meeting and was greeting party members when he collapsed. Gowda, former Chief Ministerof Karnataka, was on his way to Bengaluru. He was rushed to the Basaveshwara Medical College and Hospital in Chitradurga after which he was shifted to Bengaluru.
