UP CM Yogi Adityanath conducts aerial survey of flood-hit areas

At present 247 villages of 14 districts are affected by floods in the state.


On Friday,Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted the aerial survey of flood-affected districts in the state and directed district magistrates concerned to expedite relief operations. 


As per the information, The CM reviewed the status of floods in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Ayodhya, Gonda and Barabanki through which the Saryu River flows.


As per the information received on Friday, 247 villages in 14 districts were affected by floods. Meanwhile, 21 deaths was also recorded due to heavy rain, lightning and in one case, drowning. Heavy rain claimed 10 lives in Etawah, three in Firozabad and one each in Kasganj and Hamirpur. Another two persons died in Mainpuri, and one each in Balrampur, Shahjahanpur and Hardoi due to lightning. One person drowned in Prayagraj while there were reports of two persons missing in Ballia after they were swept away by the river.


As per the information, the chief minister ordered quick distribution of relief supplies and permissible medical aid in cases of human or animal casualties.


In the last 24 hours, more than 25 mm rainfall was recorded in 16 districts. At present 247 villages of 14 districts are affected by floods in the state.


As many as eight National Disaster Response Force teams have been sent to the state's seven districts, including Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Lakhimpur Kheri, Varanasi, Bahraich, Ayodhya and Bareilly for rescue operations.


Further the chief minister also enquired about the preparations being made for organising Deepotsav-2022. He directed the officials to complete all arrangements in a time bound manner. He also enquired regarding construction of Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.


Public representatives and senior officials of the government and administration were present on the occasion.
