UP CM Yogi Adityanath to launch 'School Chalo Campaign'

Ensuring 100 per cent enrollment in primary and upper primary schools in the state


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the 'School Chalo Abhiyan' in state's Shravasti District today, April 04. It aimed at ensuring 100 per cent enrollment in primary and upper primary schools across all districts in the state. This will be an effort by the state government to build the future of primary education and the holistic development of primary schools, the official statement issued here. 

 

The 'School Chlao Abhiyan' will be started from Shravasti District which has the lowest literacy rate. Others districts with the lowest literacy rate in UP are Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur. 

 

"From April 04, the School Chalo Abhiyan would begin from Shravasti. In this regard, the department should complete all the preparations in time. All the teachers should go on door - to - door visit and meet the parents and motivate children to come to school," Yogi Adityanath said on Friday, April 01, 2022. 

 

CM Adityanath also directed that all government schools must offer basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, furniture and smart classes to students. Departmental officials must carry out a campaign to collaborate with alumini of government schools and private firms for transformation of state - run schools. 

 

Directions have also been issued to the basic education department to gear up for the abhiyan and ensure deployment of teachers in all state - run schools, Adityanath said. Students will be provided with uniforms and shoes and socks under the campaigns the release said. 

 

CM Yogi told officials to ensure that children come to school in proper uniforms, considering that the money for uniforms was deposited in the bank accounts of their parents. 

 

As part of the School Chalao Abhiyan, officials have also been directed to develop modern facilities at primary schools under Operation Kayakalp. CM Yogi has said that, 'Operation Kayakalp' indicators must be achieved a 100 per cent to ensure that government schools districts receive a complete and through transformative facelift. 

 

CM Yogi has also directed public representatives - members of the legislative assembly (MLAs) to get associated with the School Chalo Campaign and adopt one school each. In addition to MLAs, he has also directed officials to adopt schools and look after their development and upgradation work closely.
