UP teacher's viral video prompts outrage

In a video, an Indian teacher abused a Muslim youngster…

Trapta Tyagi, a teacher at the school in Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, was shown in the video pushing other kids to smack him harder in addition to making Islamophobic remarks. The footage first surfaced on Friday.

The teacher was supported by a male voice in the background.

In the video, Tyagi is heard saying, "I have declared that all Muslim children should go."

The man is heard saying, "You are correct, it ruins the education," as the victim screams and shakes in front of the class.

Out of Uttar Pradesh's 235 million residents, Muslims make up about one in five.

The event occurred on Thursday in Neha Public School in Kubbapur village, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Muzaffarnagar town, according to the parents of the seven-year-old Mohammad Altamash.

His mother, Rubina, reported that her son had cried when he returned home the day before. "He was traumatized. This is not the proper way to treat children.

His father Mohammad Irshad claims that the teacher "asked them [my son's classmates] to slap him one by one." The teacher explained why she acted in this way by claiming that my son did not memorize his lessons.

The video was removed from many users' accounts after the police in India instructed them not to distribute it on social media.

The teacher's remarks heard in the video, according to Irshad, a farmer, are an example of the "hate that is being spread against Muslims in the country" and are to blame for the mistreatment of his son.

After the child and parents' statements were recorded, a police officer stated that a case had been filed.
