Chandigarh police make special arrangements to maintain Law and order...


On February 14, 2023, Chandigarh police will make special arrangements in view of Valentine's Day to avoid incidents and maintain law and order in the city.

 

According to the information, nearly 290 police personnel, including 5 DSPs, 16 SHOs, 10 I/C PPs, and 4 inspectors, will be deployed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to keep an eye on incidents.

 

As per the police, all the PCR vehicles will be on patrol in the city, especially near the girl's college, and police will be in civilian clothes looking around in parks, lakes, malls, and near colleges.

 

Special arrangements have been made near the Geri Route, especially at the turn from sectors 11 and 12 to sectors 10, 14, and 25, the Punjab University, and Chandigarh's surrounding areas.

The market patrol will be done between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. at different locations in the city.

 

However, nearly 104 NGOs and ORs from all the police stations and approximately 150 from other units also contributed to the total. A total of 26 internal nakas will be laid from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
