Valid PUC Certificate in Delhi

PUC Mandatory from Oct 25


From October 25 onwards, the Pollution under control (PUC) certificate is mandatory in the National capital to get fuels. 


The Delhi Transport Department has issued an advisory saying that filling stations will only provide petrol, diesel and CNG after seeing the Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate of the vehicle.


The advisory also stated that a fine of Rs 10,000 and imprisonment up to three months would be awarded to the drivers without PUC certificates.


The Delhi government, along with the Environment Department and Transport Department have issued a notice to all the fuel dealers. The rule will come into effect from October 25.


Legal action would be taken against those who will not get their PUC certificate updated before October 25.


All electric vehicles and battery-operated e-rickshaws are exempted from this rule.


As ler the information, The transport department also stated that all vehicle owners whose vehicles are more than a year old from the date of registration will have to get a pollution check done.


Amid surge in pollution levels in the city. The national capital surges with an incessant smoky environment which also hampers the health and creates difficulty in traveling.
