Veteran actor Arun Bali passes away at 79 in Mumbai

Veteran actor Arun Bali, who impressed everyone with his performances in many Bollywood films, is no more. He passed away at the age of 79 in Mumbai.


As per the information, for a while, Arun was not keeping well. He was suffering from a rare neuromuscular disease myasthenia gravis. The actor was also admitted to the Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai earlier this year.


A seasoned actor, and a well-known face has a last release today called “Goodbye” where he starred with Amitabh Bachchan, Neena Gupta and Rashmika Mandanna.


Arun Bali is known for his roles in 3 Idiots, Kedarnath, Panipat, Hey Ram, Dand Nayak, Ready, Zameen, Policewala Gunda, Phool Aur Angaar, and Raam Jane, among many other films. He has worked in numerous films and television series. He played the part of King Porus in the 1991 period drama Chanakya, Kunwar Singh in the Doordarshan soap opera Swabhimaan and the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, in the controversial and critically acclaimed 2000 film Hey Ram. Arun Bali is also a National Award-winning producer.


Fans paid tributes to the actor on Twitter. “How tragic life is. He has his film, all set to be released today, but he isn't. What a fine actor,” wrote one user.


In the 2000s, he became known for his 'grandfatherly' roles like that of Harshvardhan Wadhwa in 'Kumkum' and has even garnered popular awards for the same. He is also a National Award-winning producer.


He hailed from a Punjabi Muhiyal (Brahmin) Family. Further details about his last rites are awaited.
