Vijay Rupani Questioned Congress Leaders Over Rs. 500 Crore Scam

Rupani has given the 15 days time!

Gujarat's ex-chief minister Vijay Rupani has sent a legal notice to Congress leaders in the state for alleging that he was part of a Rs. 500 crore scam.

On Monday, after returning from the US, Vijay Rupani sent legal notices to Leader of Opposition Sukhram Rathwa and his colleagues, asking them to give evidence of the corruption.

If they fail to do so and do not apply an apology in just 15 days, Rupani said he would file a defamation case against them in the court.

The Congress has alleged that the BJP government under the leadership of former CM Vijay Rupani changed the zoning of the land belonging to the Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) from residential to industrial, to benefit Sahara India Home Corporation.

Rupani said, "Yesterday, I came back from America and met my lawyers. I have sent legal notice to Congress leaders. I am not going to accept any allegations which are totally baseless and something without proof.

I am giving them the time of 15 days to come with proof and evidence of the Rs. 500 crore corruption or else they should apologise from me."

The senior Gujarat official has claimed that the land in question was worth around Rs. 80 crore, whereas the Congress leader have accused him of corruption to the tune of Rs. 500 crores.

“It is like, 'Kehne wala be deewana, sunne wala be deewana'. My tenure has been extremely clean and our government worked for development," he said.
