Vikram-S, India’s first privately built rocket, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

On Friday India’s first privately built rocket Vikram-suborbital (VKS) was launched by ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation). Sykroot Aerospace has been developed the rocket, has named after Vikram Sarabhai hailed as the father of India’s space sector. In a bid to symbolise a new start, the mission has been named ‘Prarambh’, which literally translates as “beginning”.

“Mission Prarambh is successfully accomplished. Congratulations” ISRO announced on Twitter.

Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh where the launch tool place at around 11.30 am. The rocket had achieved its peak Apogee of 89 km while the target was 80 km.

The rocket has developed within a record of time of two years by over 200 engineers, Vikram-S is powered by solid fuelled propulsion, cutting-edge avionics and a carbon fibre core structure.

One of the world’s first few all-composite rockets the six-metre tall rocket is that has 3D-printed solid thrusters for its spin stability.

Vikram-S is the quickest and most affordable ride to space, With a body mass of 545 kgs, length of 6m, and diameter of 0.375 meters.
