Waqf Board Urges Delhi HC To Re-Open Nizamuddin Markaz Ahead Of Shab -e- Barat And Ramzan

Festivals Are approaching in March and April


With the arrival of the festive season and upcoming festivals such as Shab -e- -Barat and Ramzan. The Waqf Board Urges the Delhi High court to Reopen Nizamuddin Markaz Ahead of the festival.



On Tuesday, The Delhi High Court asked the police to file a status report on a plea by the Waqf Board to re-open the Nizamuddin Markaz, where the Tablighi Jamaat congregation was held in March 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic and has remained shut since then, as the festivals are approaching in March and April.



According to the information, The Waqf Board said in its application that the next date of hearing in the matter was April 21, however, the festival of Shab-e-Barat is approaching in the middle of March and the holy month of Ramzan is also beginning from April 2, depending upon the lunar sighting. 



Further, it read “The mosque commonly known as Masjid Bangle Wali, comprising four floors along with the place of ablution, would be required by the worshippers because of the importance of the prayers during Shab-e-Barat as well as during the holy month of Ramzan,” senior advocate Sanjoy Ghose, representing the Waqf Board, said



Looking into the cases of Covid-19, the cases in the National capital are declining and the Restrictions are also getting eased. As per the latest information, the National capital Delhi is also to remove the Night curfew after reviewing the Covid scenario meeting on Friday. The Delhi Disaster management authority (DDMA) will review the situation after a meeting.
