Weekend Curfew In Delhi

On Tuesday, The Delhi Government decided to impose a weekend curfew in the National capital in view of the incessant rise in Covid cases.



As per the information, the decision was taken by the Delhi disaster management authority (DDMA) which virtually reviewed the scenario of the capital city. DDMA said, "Weekend curfew will be imposed in Delhi following a spike in COVID-19 cases. Government official’s essential services will work from home in Delhi."



According to the statement given by Delhi Health Minister said the cases of Covid-19 are spreading faster and people need to be cautious. He also informed about the Delhi Chief Minister tested positive for COVID.

 

He said, "Yesterday, I said that 84 percent of Delhi's total Covid cases in the last two days were of the omicron variant of Coronavirus." Adding more he said "84 percent of the Covid-19 cases reported in Delhi in the past two days were of the omicron variant. Delhi's expected to report around 4,000 cases today with the positivity rate rising to 6.5 %."



The National capital has been witnessing a surge in the cases of Covid-19 and omicron. The city reported 4,099 new cases of COVID in the last 24 hours.

 

According to Delhi's health bulletin, it said the National capital's positivity rate stood at 6.46 percent and the active cases have gone to 10,986 in the city. The overall tally peaked to 14, 58,220 and the capital city witnessed one death due to the infection in the last 24 hours which took the death toll to 25,100.
