Weekly markets to reopen in Delhi from today

The decision was taken after the Capital city reported a slowdown in Covid-19 cases.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that all weekly markets in the National Capital will reopen from Monday. This decision was taken after the Capital city reported a slowdown in Covid-19 cases.

According to the tweet, The Delhi CM said, "Weekly markets are being opened from Monday. These are poor people. Government is quite concerned about their livelihoods. However,  everyone's health and lives are important. I urge everyone to follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour after these markets are opened."

The markets in the National Capital were closed after a lockdown was imposed on April 18 due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.  According to the health department data, Delhi reported 66 fresh Covid-19 cases and zero deaths on Sunday. Whereas the positivity rate stood at 0.10 per cent.
