WhatsApp, Instagram Restored After 30 minutes of breakdown

Apps owned by Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram have been inactive for more than half an hour worldwide

The outrage was first reported by users on Twitter at 11 p.m. People have written that one of the most popular messaging apps in the world has been out of order for some time. Some Instagram and Facebook Messenger users also reported that apps were down. No messages were sent on WhatsApp and Messenger, users tweeted, and no content could be uploaded to the photo-sharing and video-sharing app on Instagram.

"Earlier today, there was a technical issue that caused people to have difficulty accessing certain services on Facebook. We have resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologize for any inconvenience." A Facebook spokesman said.

The outage tracking website downdetector.com reported that the apps were offline worldwide for more than 30 minutes. Between 11 pm and 11:40 pm, the Down detector has revealed that there are more than 1.2 million instances of people reporting issues via Instagram, while more than 23,000 users are posting problems via WhatsApp on this website. Down detector tracks logs by collecting status reports from a range of sources, including user-generated errors on its platform.

Another instant messaging app, Signal, which claims to have better user privacy and security, sent a swipe to WhatsApp during a break. "Registration of signals goes through the roof; welcome everyone! Unity for people working on WhatsApp shutdown. People outside the tech industry will never understand how strange it sounds when someone says “looking forward to some weekend downtime, "Signal posted on its official handle.
