Woman gang-raped in moving cab on Yamuna Expressway

Police have arrested the three accused…


On the Yamuna Expressway, a woman was allegedly gangraped in a moving car. Three people, including the driver of the cab, have been arrested in connection with this case.

The woman in her complaint alleged that she had boarded a cab from Noida Sector 37 to Firozabad at around 8:30 pm. Soon after getting on the Yamuna Expressway, the accused started to harass the woman.

They reached Agra’s Kuberpur area around 1 am and stopped the vehicle. They then took the woman behind bushes and raped her till 4 am, the complaint claimed.

The accused later made the woman board an auto rickshaw, while they themselves left for Firozabad. The woman got down at Etmadpur in Agra and went to a police station at 7am and narrated the story.

After following the woman’s complaint, a police team reached the expressway and recovered toll footage. Based on that, the police identified the vehicle and arrested all three men accused of raping the woman.

Speaking to India Today, Agra Police Commissioner Dr. Preetinder Singh said that a case has been registered on the basis of the woman’s complaint.

All the three accused have been arrested so far in the case and the investigation is going on.
