Woman Jumped Off Akshardham Metro Station

On Thursday, a 25-year-old woman tried to attempt suicide, she tried to jump off the edge of the side wall of Akshardham metro station in Delhi in an attempt to kill herself but she succumbed to her injuries.

 

A ruckus erupted at the Akshardham metro station on Thursday morning after the woman tried to kill herself by jumping off the edge of the sidewall. A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel had noticed her and immediately informed the shift head. They reached the spot and tried to convince the woman to come down.

 

However, she did not heed their pleas and signaled that she would not get off the edge. 

 

As per the information, the shift in charge immediately informed the station controller, metro control, cluster Inspector and line in charge, who then informed the local police and arranged an ambulance. The shift in-charge along with four staff from the nearby mall went down to the ground and arranged a thick blanket to rescue the woman.

 

Later, she jumped and was rescued by the team and was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital for treatment. She suffered injuries in her leg.
