On Monday, In Haryana, a woman allegedly smothered her twin daughters who were nine-month-old with a pillow in Danoda village in Jind, police informed.
Investigating officer in this case at Sadar police station Narwana Atma said a case of murder has been filed against the accused named Sheetal and she is in custody now.
The accused confessed to her crime 13 days after the incident, after which her husband registered a complaint, police said.
He alleged that he had gone to work in the fields on July 12 and when he came home in the afternoon, there was a crowd outside his house.
When he went inside the house, Sheetal said that Janki and Janvi had died.
Believing Sheetal's words, the family buried the girls without conducting a post-mortem or investigation.
The police officer said that now the police will take out the buried dead bodies and a post-mortem will be done.
