Mumbai police arrested a woman and are searching for her husband, who allegedly spiked the drink of a woman and raped her while his wife filmed the act. Later, the couple demanded money from the victim by threatening to circulate the video.
The accused woman, who is 36 years old, is a beautician and knew the 22-year-old victim.
According to the police, the victim, who is into event management, on Sunday received a call from the accused woman, who called her to her residence in Malwani. When the victim went to the accused woman’s home, the latter offered her a drink. After having the drink, the woman partially lost consciousness. After this, the accused woman’s husband allegedly raped her, a police source said.
When she gained consciousness, she realised that she had been raped and the crime filmed. The accused couple threatened to circulate the video and demanded Rs 10,000 from her. When the victim refused to pay, the accused allegedly assaulted her.
A day after the incident, she lodged a complaint at the Malwani police station.
