World Food Day is a worldwide celebration observed in nearly 150 countries. The 2023 World Food Day theme is "Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave No One Behind." This theme underscores the significance of water, a precious resource crucial for food production and livelihoods. Water is not only essential for food but also constitutes 50 percent of the human body.

World Food Day was established by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1979 to commemorate its founding in 1945. Its core mission is to address the global challenges related to food that millions of people face.
