World Liver Day 2023

This day raises awareness among the people...

World Liver Day falls on Wednesday, 19 April 2023 to raise awareness of disorders affecting the liver, which is observed by people across the globe.

Our liver regulates immunity, digestion, and metabolism. Living with a sick liver is not possible. So, we must maintain the liver's health.

Liver diseases are the tenth most common cause of death in India, according to data supplied by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Thus, World Liver Day is observed to promote healthy living, discourage the consumption of fatty foods, and increase public awareness of liver diseases.

The World Liver Day theme is ‘Be Vigilant, Do Regular Liver Check-Ups, Fatty Liver Can Affect Anyone.’

This day is intended to explain the priority of liver health is vitally important.

Hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer are examples of liver conditions that can be non-curable.

On World Liver Day, people can learn more about the factors that increase their chance of developing liver disease, including drinking alcohol, being overweight, having viral hepatitis, and using certain drugs.

The majority of individuals are unaware that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a main cause of cirrhosis, can be avoided with few lifestyle changes.
