Champion wrestler Babita Phogat is a prominent name in the field of sports. After box office grosser Dangal, her story of struggles and success have touched every heart and mind. The Champion wrestler and BJP leader, who contested 2019 Haryana elections but was unsuccessful, has resigned from the post of Deputy Director of the state's sport department this Wednesday which gave rise to layer of speculations.

Rumors from some reliable sources are triggering that she is planning to actively participate in election campaigning for the party. In her brief resignation letter to the Principal Secretary of the sports department, Ms Phogat declared that she is discontinuing due to some 'unavoidable circumstances'. "I had recently joined as Deputy Director in the sports department but due to some unavoidable circumstances, I may not be able to continue my service", she wrote.

Soon after her resignation, she tweeted to announce her decision and told the netizens about her urge to join the party and actively contribute to its progress. The buzz grew stronger after her meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Lal Khattar. If rumors were to be believed Ms Phogat is planning to take active part in poll campaigning in the Baroda bypoll in Sonipat and the Bihar elections for the BJP scheduled for November 3. Currently, the party holds 40 seats in the 90 member assembly.

A three time Commonwealth gold and silver medalist joined the BJP in August last year, along with her father Mahavir Phogat just before Haryana elections. Her stance in the recent past has shown that she has been very supportive of central government's policies.
