Yamuna Water Breaches Danger Mark!

The Monsoon is likely to retreat from Delhi by September 30!


On Monday morning, the water level of Yamuna crossed the danger mark. After the capital city received incessant rainfall for three days, Yamuna's water level breached the danger mark and is currently at 204.68 meters.


As per the information given by, The Department of Delhi Disaster Management Authority has warned people to avoid visiting river banks and grazing as the water level breached warning level.


According to the information, the water level of Yamuna is rising rapidly due to incessant rainfall and the release of a large amount of water from Hathnikund barrage located in Yamunanagar, Haryana.


According to the weather forecasters, an anticyclone will establish over southwest Rajasthan after 24 hours and northwesterly winds will commence in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi which will lead to a drop in moisture content in the atmosphere.


The maximum temperature in the national capital on Sunday settled at 31 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.


Delhi's air quality index (AQI) was recorded in the 'satisfactory' (53) category around 7 pm, Central Pollution Control Board data showed.
