Yogi Adityanath Bans Meat, Liquor Trade In UP's Mathura

Those who are involved in the liquor and meat business may start selling up milk to revive the glory of Mathura, as the city was known for producing animal milk in rich quantity, said Yogi.


Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, has foisted an absolute prohibition on the sale of liquor and meat in Mathura. He addressed this statement at the Krishnotsava 2021 program in Lucknow. Cabinet ministers Laxmi Narain Chaudhary and Shrikant Sharma were also present on the occasion.

The officers concerned have been directed to make plans for the ban as well as for the engagement of people involved in such activities in some other trade. Besides, those who are involved in the liquor and meat business may start selling up milk to revive the glory of Mathura, as the city was known for producing animal milk in rich quantity, said Yogi.

He added that the government is making efforts for the Brij Bhumi project and there will be no dearth of funds for this. "We are looking at a blend of modern technology and cultural and spiritual heritage for the development of the region," he said. Moreover, to get rid of the novel coronavirus infection, Yogi  Adityanath prayed to Lord Krishna.

The decision has been taken by Adityanath, according to which, proper care will be taken of Mathura, which is a holy place for the Hindus. He said that the city did not receive proper attention earlier but now it would be revived. Yogi also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a new direction to the country.
