Yogi Adityanath orders cleanliness campaign in state after suspected dengue deaths

 Uttar Pradesh is witnessing an increase in dengue cases and the state has reported suspected dengue deaths. The state government on Wednesday transferred the CMO of Firozabad, where 41 people, mostly children, died due to suspected dengue and viral fever.

According to an official spokesperson, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a meeting with officials pointed out that cases of dengue have been reported in many districts and cautioned that the number of malaria cases can rise too.

On Thursday, Yogi Adityanath directed authorities to run a widespread campaign and assign a nodal officer to every district for monitoring. 

Adityanath said, "Due to rains and waterlogging there are chances of spread of diseases."  He also said," A nodal officer should be sent in every district to monitor the situation and relief work due to the flood."
