Darshan Pal, a farmer leader spoke to a prominent news agency during the break after the first session of the meet and said “We told the government we will not agree to anything other than the repeal of the laws. But the ministers asked us to discuss separately again and rethink on the matter and convey the decision.” The 11th round of talks between the two sides is underway at Vigyaan Bhawan in New Delhi to try and break the ongoing deadlock on the three farm laws introduced by the central government in September last year.

Meanwhile the farmers are gearing up for their tractor rally on Republic Day, January 26 where lakhs are expected to parade on a stretch of 16-17 Kms of Delhi’s outer Ring Road.
