16,000 New Covid Cases In India In 24 Hours

Nearly 198 crore doses of the vaccines have been administered in the country so far!

New Delhi: On Monday, India has reported at least 16,135 fresh covid-19 cases, taking the total number of Covid cases to 4,35,18564. India's death tally reached 5,25,223 with 24 new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours.

 According to Union Health Ministry data, the active cases stand at 1,13,864, comprising 0.26 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate was recorded at 98.54 per cent, the ministry said.

Nearly 198 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccines have so far been administered in the country, the Co-WIN dashboard showed.

On Monday, Delhi recorded 420 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 5.25 per cent, while one more person succumbed to the viral disease, according to data shared by the health department.

With these fresh infections and fatalities, Delhi's caseload rose to 19,37,433 and the death toll increased to 26,272, the health department bulletin said.

The fresh cases came out of 8,002 tests conducted the previous day, it said on Monday.

Delhi on Sunday reported 648 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 4.29 per cent while five people had died due to the infection.

On Saturday, it had logged 678 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 3.98 per cent, and two new fatalities.

The city saw 813 coronavirus cases with a positivity rate of 5.30 per cent, and three deaths on Friday.

The day before, it had reported 865 Covid cases with a positivity rate of 4.45 per cent and zero death.
