India recorded 636 Covid cases in last 24 hours, according to Union health ministry data released on Monday.

 

India's active Covid-19 caseload rose gradually, reaching 4394. With three more deaths reported in 24-hour period, the total death toll was recorded at 5,33,364.

 

The number of current Covid-19 cases increased in several states, according to ministry data updated at 8 am on Monday.

 

As per the website, total number of 4,44,76,150 people have recovered from the illness so far, meaning that the country's recovery rate is 98.81 percent. The current fatality rate is 1.18 percent.

Before December 5, the number of cases each day had fallen to double digits; however, with the emergence of a new variant and the cold weather, cases have increased once more

 

When the pandemic started in early 2020 and has resulted in over 4.5 crore infections and over 5.3 lakh deaths in around four years nationwide, the daily figures were reported in lakhs.
