New Delhi: On Wednesday, 10 May 2023, India recorded 2,109 new Covid-19 infections, while the number of active cases reduced to 21,406 from 22,742, according to the Union Health Ministry data at 8 AM.

The coronavirus infection tally stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,74,909).

The death count reached 5,31,722 with eight fatalities which include those reconciled by Kerala, the data updated.

At 21,406, the active cases comprise 0.05 percent of the total infections.

The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.77 percent, the Health Ministry said.

The number of people who recuperated from the disease surged to 4,44,21,781.

The case fatality rate stood at 1.18 percent.

According to the Health Ministry's website, 220.66 crore doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
