2 Dead, 19 Injured In A Massive Fire At Building In Mumbai

Fire broke out at 7 am


On Saturday morning, around two people were found dead and 19 were injured after a fire broke out at a building in Mumbai.


According to the information the fire took place at 7 am and a level 3 fire was reported on the 18 th floor or the 20 th storey building. The fire took place at the Kamala building in Nana chowk in Mumbai Tardeo.

 

Around 15 have been injured and have been taken to the Bhatia hospital out of the three are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and the rest 12 are under the general ward, while four of them have also been sent to Nair hospital.


According to ANI, six old age people needed an oxygen support system. The blaze is under control but smoke is huge " said Kishori Pednekar to the News Agency.


According to the statement given by BJP president, Mangal Prabhat Lodha called it an unfortunate incident.  

 

The fire department said around 13 fire engines and seven jumbo tankers were deployed to control the fire. The Mumbai Fire Brigade has designated it as a Level-3 fire.

 

Thirteen fire tenders are at the scene to douse the blaze, along with five ambulances to rush any possible casualties to the hospital.


According to an official, "It is a ground plus 20-storey building. The fire broke out on its 18th floor. On being alerted, the fire brigade personnel and police rushed to the spot. Thirteen fire engines, seven water jetties, among others, are involved in the firefighting operation," adding that it was tagged as a level-3 (major) fire.


Five ambulances have also been deployed for the rescue operations, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said.
