200 cases of Omicron reported in India so far: Health ministry

On Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry said, 200 patients in India have been diagnosed to have been infected with the omicron variant. So far, the country reported 200 cases of the Covid-19 led New Variant Omicron. 


As per the report, Maharashtra is always on the top list when it comes to Covid-19 led infection. During the second wave of the Covid-19, Maharashtra was among the worst-hit state, Second, comes the National capital. As per the information, Maharashtra and Delhi carry 54 cases of omicron variant each, Telangana with 29 cases, Karnataka with 19, Rajasthan 18, Kerala 15, and Gujarat 14 cases.


As per the data, India recorded 5,326 new cases of Covid, the lowest tally in 581 days which took the overall tally to 3,47,52,164 and the cases dipped to 79,097. The death toll climbed to 4,78,007 with 453 fatalities.


India has witnessed the worst hit of deadly Covid-19. The cases were incessantly increasing during the second wave. Remembering the days, India witnessed oxygen crisis in the respective state, emergency for medical, scarcity for medical beds, equipment, and other resources. After which the omicron cases are worrying, the Government has imposed several restrictions in the state to curb the infection and save people from getting trapped with the deadly virus.
