26/11 Mumbai terror attack


 On Friday, the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Around 166 people were killed and 293 were injured during the attack.

According to the tweet, the Union Home Minister said, "Heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives in Mumbai 26/11 terror attack."

 

As per the statement, the Union Home Minister also said a grateful Nation will always be indebted to the sacrifices of those who died and called the 2008 Mumbai terror attack a "Cowardly" act. 

 

The 26/11 incident took place in 2008. It is the 13 anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack today. This 26/11 is one of the deadliest attacks that occured in India which was carried out by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar -e-Taiba. The terrorist targeted various crowded locations across the city, including the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus(CSMT), Taj Mahal Palace hotel, Trident, Nariman House, Leopard Cafe, Cama Hospital, and others.

 

Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist was caught alive, was convicted and sentenced to death. He got hanged on November 21, 2012. Five days before the fourth anniversary of the attack. 166, including the security personnel, lost their lives during this . While nine of the terrorist were gunned down by the National Security guard (NSG) and Mumbai police.
