Gujarat police arrests Vijay Thakor for raping 3 minors and killing one of them and dumping the body in the culvert

On Monday, a 26-year-old laborer was arrested for allegedly raping three minor girls aged between 3 and 7 years, and killing one of them in a span of 10 days in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The accused Vijay Thakor, in a shocking turn of events sexually assaulted his latest victim who was a three-year-old girl after killing her. He then dumped the body into a culvert said Inspector General of Police (Gandhinagar range) Abhay Chudasama.

Reportedly the IGP said “The accused is married with a daughter. He has a perverted mentality, maybe due to his habit of watching porn. Till now, he has confessed to having raped three minor girls aged 3, 5 and 7 years and killing one of the them. He has been remanded in police custody till November 11 for further investigation.” On November 4, the Santej police of Gandhinagar district received a complaint from a woman labourer living near Rancharda village about an identified man who abducted her 5-year-old daughter and then left her at a secluded place on the same day. On a medical check up being done it was confirmed that the girl was raped.

Two days later, the Santej police received another complaint of a 3-year-old girl being abducted on the night of November 5 from a makeshift shanty near Khatraj crossroads. After scanning the CCTV footage and collecting information from locals, police narrowed it down to Thakor, a casual labourer from Vansjada village in Kalol taluka said Chudasama. He later confessed to raping the 5- and 3-year-old girl said the IGP. Apparently Thakor killed the three-year-old girl because she was shouting too much and then raped her. The police recovered the body from the culvert where she was dumped.

Chudasama revealed that the accused had lured the five-year-old by promising her to buy new clothes. And for the second case Thakor entered the hut of the three-year-old girl in the night when everybody was asleep and took her away. He further added that “During interrogation, Thakor confessed to having raped a 7-year-old girl around ten days back in the same area. He had first snatched the girl’s phone forcing her to follow him. He then abducted her and raped her. A detailed investigation about Thakor’s criminal past is on.”
