Delhi witnessed 564 new Covid cases with positivity rate of 14.93%....


New Delhi has recorded over 4,000 new Covid cases by the end of this week huge rise in the number. With the highest number of fatalities this year with seven deaths.

 

On Saturday Delhi witnessed 564 new Covid cases and one fatality with a case positivity rate of 14.93%, as per the report of health department data.

 

The national capital's caseload climbed to 20,38,317 with the fresh cases and fatality the death toll rose to 26,627, on Saturday.

 

Now the number of active cases in the national capital are 3,440. From these over 2,603 patients are in home isolation, according to the health department bulletin.

 

The present data showed that only 279 of the 7,970 Covid-19 beds are occupied in the national capital.

 

The health department did not release the data on Friday. The number of deaths remained more or less the same throughout the week. 

 

Medical experts have said Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16 could be driving the surge in cases in the city.
