64 School Students Test Covid-Positive In Odisha's Rayagada

Covid-19 infection among students!


64 students in a school in Odisha's Rayagada district have tested positive for the Covid-19.



According to the information given by Saroj Kumar Mishra, District Magistrate, Rayagada said, there has been no corona outbreak as such and as reported by news agency ANI medical teams have been deployed in the hostels.



Further said, "There is no corona outbreak as such. But during random testing, we found some positive cases in two residential hostels, and 64 students were found positive. The students have no symptoms and have been isolated. However, we are sending their samples to the state headquarters for rechecking. Medical teams have been deployed in the hostels".



The students were found positive after the random testing was done but they have no symptoms of COVID-19 and have been isolated.



A total of 44 students from the Rayagada district headquarters Anwesha hostel were found positive. Students studying in nine different English medium schools of Rayagada reside in this hostel.



On Saturday, Odisha recorded 14 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 12,88,131, the health department said. The toll remained unchanged at 9,126, as no fresh fatalities due to coronavirus were reported. The state had registered 14 new infections and zero death on Friday. Odisha now has 103 active coronavirus cases. Altogether 12,78,849 people have recovered from the disease so far, including 10 on Friday. The department said 53 other coronavirus patients have also died due to comorbidities to date.
