8,822 New COVID-19 Cases In India In 24 Hours

Covid total recoveries have reached 4,26,67,088!


New Delhi: On Wednesday, 15 June 2022, India recorded 8,822 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the Covid-19 tally to 4,32,45,517.

India's active COVID-19 caseload currently stands at 53,637, the Health Ministry said.

With 5,718 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have reached 4,26,67,088.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2 per cent while the weekly positivity rate at 2.35 per cent. The national recovery rate was 98.66 per cent. The cumulative Covid vaccine doses administered across India has exceeded 195.5 crore.

On Tuesday, Mumbai reported 1,724 fresh COVID-19 cases, a rise of over 600 compared to Monday, and two fatalities due to the infection, the civic bulletin said.

With this, Mumbai's tally of infections climbed to 10,83,589 and the COVID-19 death count to 19,575, it said.

A day earlier, the metropolis had logged 1,118 cases but no fatality.

Tuesday is the eighth consecutive day when Mumbai reported COVID-19 cases in four digits.The positivity rate stands at 15.65 percent as of Tuesday.

Earlier, Mumbai had reported two fatalities due to COVID-19 on June 12. According to the bulletin, both the patients who died due to the infection were women above 60 years with comorbidities.
