8 places are withdrawn by the Gurugram Administration to offer Namaz

A panel is constituent to resolve the issue and offer places to perform Namaz


Gurugram administration denied permission to offer namaz at 8 out of 37 designated sites. According to the statement of the District Govt., the permission was denied after an objection from local people and RWA.

The eight site includes the various parts of the Gurugram like the outskirts of Daulatabad village near Dwarka Expressway and Kherki Majra village, near DLF Square Tower etc.

The official .also stated that "Permission from the administration is necessary for namaz in any public and open place."

According to Islamic law, namaz can be offered at any mosque, Eidgah or a private or designated place.

"If the locals or the residents have any objections, then the permission will not be given to offering namaz there too," govt. added.

The administration has constituent a panel to discuss the issue of offering the namaz. The panel is led by the Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg.

This panel will discuss the matter with communities to resolve the issue and ensure that residents do not face any problem in the offering of namaz in that area.

"Namaz will not be offered on roads," said the Panel. It will take consent from locals at the time of designating a spot for offering prayers.

The govt. has urged to maintain the law and order within the public. Gurugram Police is keeping their eye on this situation. Earlier, people went on roads over this issue in Gurugram.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Aman Yadav, has ensured the public to resolve the issue to offer namaz.
