New Delhi: On Monday, 15 May 2023, India witnessed 801 fresh covid cases, while the active cases have reduced to 14,493 from 15,515, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated at 8 AM.
The death count has reached 5,31,778 with eight new deaths which include four in Kerala, the data updated.
The Coronavirus infections tally was recorded at 4.49 crore (4,49,81,475).
Now, the active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.78 percent, the Health Ministry said.
The number of people recuperating from the disease surged to 4,44,35,204 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 percent.
According to the Health Ministry's website, so far 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in India under the nationwide vaccination drive.
