Abhimanyu Mishra becomes the youngest Grandmaster in Chess


Indian-origin American Abhimanyu Mishra became the youngest chess Grandmaster on Wednesday. He made up for his performance in the third GM norm in Budapest to become the youngest chess Grandmaster. In the final round of the event, he defeated the 15-year-old Indian GM Leon Luke Mendonca with the black pieces, securing a performance rating higher than 2600 over nine rounds. In addition, Abhimanyu Mishra crossed the required 2500 Elo rating barrier. where Abhimanyu Mishra broke the record of GM Sergey Karjakin which stood for 19 years.

Chess was something new for Abhimanyu Mishra which was introduced by his father Hemant, who works in data management, both the father and son  used to play where  Abhimanyu Mishra started the concept of learning chess, later in the short period of time he became well advanced in chess he stated defeating  the people of his father age. At the age of seven, the age at which he became the youngest national champion before becoming the youngest National Master in the US at the age of nine. Moreover, In history in GM Sergey Karjakin , there are only five people who were marked to get the title before their 13th birthday and Abhimanyu Mishra was one of them
