Dr. Guleria called the vaccination a 'Historic Moment'!!
On achieving the target of administering 100 crore vaccination jabs the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director, Dr Randeep Guleria on Thursday came out with his statement calling "vaccines is safe and effective".
According to the statement given to ANI, Dr Guleria said, "Historic moment for India to complete one billion doses, not only in terms of numbers but also because all doses were manufactured here… it will give a new boost to those not vaccinated. This achievement proves that vaccines is safe and effective."
Earlier it was quite difficult for the people to take vaccines of the Covid-19 vaccine. Many were trapped under the rumours that it would lead to death, others also didn't want to be vaccinated because they felt it was not safe. Some medical patients thought it would bring more complications to their health and may become an epicentre for more diseases.
After fighting several battles and everything, on Thursday India touched this peak of administering 100 crore doses of vaccination to the population. .
India's Covid-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16, 2021, and from 2nd February all the frontline and Healthcare workers, police personnel, armed forces, railway staff and all the Covid-19 frontline helpers were permitted to get jabbed during that time. Later on March 1 all above 60 years of age and those with 45 plus were permitted and on may, 1 all above 18 years were allowed to get vaccinated in a phased manner.
