Allahabad HC Urges Govt & EC to Extend Assembly Polls

Omicron Fear!!


On Thursday, the Allahabad High court has asked the Government to consider postponing the upcoming elections by one or two months in view of the prevailing Covid led New Variant Omicron.



According to the statement, the high court bench appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating, "Jaan hai toh jahaan hai". The bench also requested the election commission (EC) to postpone the upcoming elections.



The Covid-19 cases are again showing their vicious side. The Covid led New Variant Omicron has touched its tally to 350. The cases are on the surge. Respective state and star Government have issued their order in view to control the curb of the deadly virus. 



With the arrival of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh election, the public rush and havoc could lead to rising in infection levels. With an aim to prevent public and public safety. The Allahabad court requested the PM Narendra Modi and the Election commission to review.



According to the statement given by HC it said, “The Court requests the Honorable Prime Minister to take strict steps in view of the situation of this dreadful epidemic and requests him to postpone rallies, meetings, and upcoming elections because if there is life, then there is hope,” said HC.



The Uttar Pradesh elections are taking place. The UP government is also speeding up with precautionary measures also imposed Covid-19 led new restrictions and guidelines to curb the infection level in the state.
