Among 3.7 Lakhs recipients of the vaccine- 580 adverse reactions, 7 admitted

On Mon, 580 cases of adverse reactions post-vaccination are reported says Central Govt.


3.8 Lakhs of recipients were vaccinated till Monday in the country wide vaccination drive. Among, all of them 580 cases of adverse reactions of the post-vaccination and seven of them are in hospitals. 2 persons have died however the deaths have nothing to do with the vaccine alleged the government. According to the report, A 46-old ward boy Mahipal Singh worked in a government hospital had received the vaccine shot twenty-four hours before his death. The district's Chief medical practitioner has also emphasised the death is unrelated to vaccination. The postmortem report reveals the immediate reason for death as "cardiogenic shock/septicemic shock" because of "cardio-pulmonary disease", said the authorities, which was consistent with his family's observation that Singh was unwell before the jab.

Another person to die was a 43-year-old man in Karnataka's Bellary. the govt. said he had died of cardio-pulmonary failure. The postmortem is however to be done, the government cleared further. The government said none of the opposite health care staff who took the vaccine from identical vial had any adverse events. Mr Nagarjuna came to take the vaccine in the morning and complained of pain. He collapsed and was admitted within the hospital, however, couldn't be saved, according to official sources. 

The World Health Organisation defines AEFI or Adverse Events Following immunization as any untoward medical prevalence that follows immunization and doesn't essentially have a causative relationship with the usage of the vaccine.
