Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Dominates Box Office with Massive Rs. 61 Crore Opening…

Ranbir Kapoor made a captivating debut with Saawariya 15 years ago, but it's now that he's truly realizing his box office potential.

His recent film, "Animal," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has become his highest-grossing opening, earning Rs 61 crore across languages.

The Hindi version contributed Rs 50.50 crore, while Telugu brought in Rs 10 crore, with the remaining three languages (Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam) contributing the rest.

Ranbir Kapoor's previous highest box office opener was Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva, which earned Rs 36.42 crore on its first day. With Animal, he has surpassed this record.

The film is anticipated to achieve a global collection exceeding Rs 100 crores. The USA alone has contributed about Rs 11 crores from premiere shows, and it is projected to surpass the $3.8 million break-even point tomorrow.

The animal made a significant impact in the Delhi NCR region, featuring in 1318 shows with an impressive 79 percent occupancy. In Mumbai, the film had a solid presence with 1040 shows and a 55 percent occupancy rate.

In the Telugu market, particularly Hyderabad, Animal showcased strength with 316 shows and an impressive 82 percent occupancy.

In contrast, the Tamil version of Animal in Chennai had 88 shows but a comparatively lower 30 percent occupancy. Despite this, Animal secures the second spot for the biggest opening across languages this year, with Jawan leading at Rs 75 crore.

However, in Hindi collections alone, Animal moves to the third spot, as Pathaan had garnered Rs 55 crore on its day 1.

Ranbir Kapoor's recent releases have shown a mixed performance at the box office.

His latest film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, opened with Rs 15.73 crore, reflecting a comparatively modest start. In contrast, Sanju, one of his earlier releases, had a more substantial opening at Rs 34.75 crore.
