Archer Deepika Kumari regains world No. 1 position after winning 3 golds at WC

According to the latest rankings of World Archery, Indian archer Deepika Kumari on Monday regained the World No. 1 spot after she scored a hat-trick of gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris on Sunday by winning the Recurve individual event by 6-0. She had earlier achieved the number one spot in 2012. The 27-year-old clinched gold medals in three recurve events, women's individual, mixed pair and team. In the women's recurve team, Deepika combined with Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari and easily claimed gold over Mexican team. In mixed pair, Deepika and her husband Atanu Das scored 5-3 and won gold by defeating the Netherland duo. In the women's individual, Ms Kumari easily clinched gold by defeating rank 17 Russian Elena Osipova 6-0. The archer who hails from Ranchi expressed happiness by saying this is the first time she has won all three medals in a World Cup.
