Assam witnessed a slowdown in Covid-19 cases


On Tuesday, Assam state eased the Covid-19 related night curfew in the state from 11 pm to 5 am. The decision came after the state witnessed an improvement, as well as the cases of deadly Coronavirus, which is declining in the state.


As per Assam state disaster management Authority (ASDMA), it said," the situation in the state has been reviewed and the overall Covid-19 scenario in the state has further improved." Whereas the ASDMA has relaxed the night curfew in the state which will be from 11 pm to 5 am instead of 10 pm. Also, the new guidelines instruct that 50 people are permitted to attend last rites and 60 people, who are fully vaccinated, will be permitted to visit religious places. Meanwhile, cinema halls and auditoriums are allowed to reopen with 50 per cent capacity.


According to the state, chief secretary Jishnu Barua said, 31 per cent of the eligible population in the state are vaccinated with both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine and around 95 per cent of them are already inoculated with the first dose. 


Meanwhile, Assam state is reporting new covid cases around 300 to 400  in the state and most of the districts are reporting 5 to 10 cases of Covid-19 per day. Covid-19 cases are declining in many states. Ahead of the upcoming Diwali and chhath festival, many other states are implementing fresh guidelines to stop people from getting trapped with the deadly virus.
