Assam to launch week-long mega Covid-19 vaccination drive

The vaccination drive will begin from November 22


 The Assam Government is set to launch a mega vaccination Covid-19 drive. The main aim of this drive is to inoculate the people of the state. The mega vaccination drive will include all the ministers, government officials and employees during this campaign. 

As per the statement,  the Assam health minister, Keshab Mahanta said the mega vaccination drive will coincide with the election as every polling booth will be assigned to one government official or employee. Adding more the Minister said," the week-long mega vaccination campaign drive will be held from November 22 to 29. The state cabinet has already decided to launch a mega vaccination drive. We are planning to adopt an election machinery system to conduct the vaccination drive. We will take the voter list from each ing booth as the basic document for the drive." It also said, "so far, the state health department is conducting vaccination drives across the state. But, during the mega vaccination drive the entire state government will be involved.",  said the minister. 


India has completed its target of inoculating 100 crore vaccination jabs to the population.  Many more states have started the vaccination drive to achieve the above target of the Covid-19 vaccine and make India covid free. Also the Assam Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa sarma stated the Government has set a goal of inoculating Covid-19 vaccination of the state eligible population by January 15, 2022.
